They are only used to assess whether the box folds correctly, has the appropriate rigidity, and whether the design is properly aligned with the die-cut. Due to differences in printing technology, colors in offset printing may differ from the prototype. The option to create a prototype holds the execution of the order until it is approved by the Client.

The four flap box, this classic, simple form with large surfaces for printing, is effective when clear brand presentation and easy packing of lightweight products are important. Thanks to its symmetrical construction, the box is versatile and suitable for both display and shipping use, ensuring an aesthetic appearance and protection of the contents.

Our boxes are an economical and convenient solution with the option to order from a few pieces to several thousand pieces.  

We offer printed cardboard boxes, produced on GC1 boards and on decorative papers with a weight of 200–400 g/m². These are lightweight materials, usually smooth and excellent for printing, ideal for small and medium-sized packaging. Due to the properties of the cardboard, the maximum dimensions of the packaging are approx. length/width 150-180mm, height 50-90mm. If dimensions are too large or too small, the calculator will inform you.  

Application

The four flap box is ideal for lightweight products in retail and shipping, e.g., cosmetics, supplements, accessories, or sample sets, especially with a label or band closure.

Packaging is the first encounter a Customer has with your brand, it should say more than a thousand words. Printed cartons emphasize the brand's character, distinguish the product, and build a positive Customer experience – from the first glance to the final choice.

Technical parameters of four-flap boxes

Box construction

Construction glued on one side. When unfolded, it forms a sleeve with four rectangular flaps at the top and bottom; no locks – closing is done by self-sealing the flaps after folding, e.g., with a printed label. To increase the strength of the bottom, the inner lower flaps can be additionally glued before packing the product.

Printing technology

The calculator supports two types of printing technology: digital printing on Ricoh Pro C9210 and offset printing on Heidelberg Speedmaster SM52-4 Anicolor. Both technologies ensure high printing precision, and the calculator itself allows comparison of both technologies in terms of available enhancement and finishing options. This allows the user to match the technology to the specifics of the order, considering the requirements for quantity and type of finishing.

Lamination: matte, glossy, Soft-Touch

Varnishing: selective UV varnish, 3D varnish

Metallic finishes: Liquid Gold, Liquid Silver

Personalization

There is also the possibility of personalizing the print with variable data.

Cutting options

Plotter cutting – for low quantities for short and medium series (without repetitions), test batch, or prototype.

Die-cutting – for medium (with repetitions) and high quantities, ensuring fast and economical production of a larger number of copies.

Delivery

Four-flap boxes are delivered flat, glued on one side. Lids for self-sealing or sealing with a printed label, which can be ordered in the label calculator. 

Recommendations/notes

  • We recommend laminating prints on coated papers due to the possibility of cracking on creases. 
  • Due to the properties of the cardboard, the maximum dimensions of the packaging are approximately 140 mm in height, 60 mm in width, and 120 mm in length.
