In catalogs with a larger number of pages, there may be a shift effect of graphics and texts from the spine towards the outer edge of the brochure.
In the case of laminated covers, a spring effect may occur.
For covers on thicker paper than the interior, possible color differences compared to the catalog interior.
How to prepare files for offset catalog printing?
Project guidelines
We recommend centering the text on the page and using margins, e.g., 2.5 cm, to facilitate reading and opening the catalog.
If you design pages with different left and right margins, remember to mirror them for even and odd pages.
Number of pages in saddle-stitched brochures
A saddle-stitched brochure consists of a minimum of 4 pages or multiples of 4.
If the number of catalog pages is not divisible by 4, blank pages are added at the end to achieve the required number of pages.
Font guidelines
All fonts used in the project must be included in the file.
Alternatively, the text can be converted to curves, but be aware of minimal font bolding in the final result.
Project sizes
Prepare the project pages in the size of the ordered format +2mm bleed on each side.
Preparing the work
Prepare the project for offset printing. All other rules for proper file preparation can be found in the Help section.
