Printing Technology

CMYK digital printing.
White color as an additional color used independently or alongside CMYK printing. No possibility of using white underprint under CMYK. 

Note

Due to the nature of the metallized substrate, CMYK printing is done directly on the film surface, giving the colors a metallic light-reflecting effect. White underprint is not used under CMYK colors, so the resulting colors differ from those printed on white paper – they are more transparent and react to the color and gloss of the film.

White color can only be used as a standalone print layer. However, it is possible to combine in one print: separately CMYK and separately white, allowing for the creation of interesting visual effects (To use this option, select both CMYK and White in the calculator).

Options

Labels delivered in sheet form. For metallized labels, we do not offer the option of cutting into single uses.

How to Prepare a File for Printing Metallized Labels

Project Size

Prepare the project in the size of the ordered use +2mm bleed on each side.

The cutting line should be prepared separately and placed on a separate layer or in a separate file.

Color Scheme – CMYK

When designing, consider the specifics of printing on metallized substrates. CMYK colors are printed directly on the foil surface, affecting their perception – colors may gain a metallic sheen, depth, or change shade. The final effect differs from printing on white foil. There is no possibility of applying a white underprint under CMYK colors.

White Color

Printing with white color is done as a standalone print layer, not as an underprint. 

Toner Coverage

Ink coverage in the project must not exceed 250% of the sum of CMYK and White components.

Black Overprint

To achieve deep, uniform black, it is recommended to use only 100% K. 

Designing Cutting/Scoring Lines

The cutting line should meet the following requirements:

• Be a closed curve in red color (100%M+100%Y).
• Where possible, use straight lines instead of curves – this will shorten the plotter's working time.
• Avoid unnecessary vertices – too many control points can slow down the cutting process.
• Cutting and scoring lines should be saved in a separate file or on a separate page.
• The start and end of the cut should be on a straight line, not on an arc – this improves cutting precision.

Note

If the label shape is too complex, the final product may slightly differ from the design (slight rounding).
